The President’s Corner

April 2012

Dear Fellow Investors and Friends:

It’s That Time of Year

Some people can’t wait for spring weather, or for the cherry blossoms, or the NCAA finals. Me? I look forward to April which, as everybody knows, is Financial Literacy Month. Okay, maybe not everybody.

Financial Literacy Month is an annual event centered on improving Americans’ understanding of their personal finances. For many years, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) has been concerned about the level of financial literacy in America because it plays such an important role in promoting the financial health and stability of individuals, families, and our national economy. They have developed a number of programs, ad campaigns, and presentations to address this concern.

During the month, many financial, not-for-profit, educational, and other institutions will be offering tools and events to the public. While many of us “older saints” have acquired some financial savvy, we want to make sure the succeeding generations become financially literate, while we continue to increase our own knowledge. The AICPA recommends a number of available tools to help all ages. I’ve selected three of them that I hope you or someone you know will find useful:

Some may also appreciate the legacy/gift planning tools available on or through The Orchard Foundation web site: www.theorchard.org

As always, thank you for your investments in churches through ADF. We look forward to continuing to serve you and your families with savings and investment products that help you achieve your financial, stewardship, and Kingdom goals.

Please let me know if you have questions, comments, or prayer requests. They are always most welcome.

Sincerely,

Lawrence McCooey Signature
